Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Stores Manager is responsible for overseeing, and leading the storage and material handling area of the business. Owning the inventory control processes from the point of material entry into the business, to the pointof material consumption, with key focus on supporting production.
**The roles and resposnisbilties of the stores manager will be -**

Health and safety is prioritised ensuring the department maintain a safe and tidy working environment for all staff. All policies are working practices are adhered to, and all PPE is worn and available.

Ensure kitting to support the production line is managed, on track, and shortages are pushed to the line

Develop a set of KPI's that allows for accurate tracking of the performance of the department.

Actively manage the stock by defining and implementing inventory control measures such as cycle counting. Interrogate the data identifying discrepancies and investigate, providing solutions against further occurrences.

Manage offsite storage facilities, ensuring stock levels are accurate, and facilities suited for our requirements

Define a put away/storage strategy that supports the production line, alongside a line side delivery strategy.

Each team member has a meaningful and achievable personal development plan, and objectives.

Identify opportunities for improvement, and look to continuously improve the logistics function of the business.

Attend meetings providing updates on logistic activities, taking away actions for the team and reporting back on progress.

Ensure there is adequate headcount to support the work load, using agency staff when required.

Oversee the onsite driver, and ensure the transport vehicles are maintained/roadworthy.

Support the Logistics Manager with implementing new policies, procedures and projects.

Experience in a strategic leadership role in a logistics/stores environment.

Proven track record of managing inventory within a manufacturing environment.

Able to manage demanding external and internal stakeholders.

Experience of multi-site logistics management

SAP or ERP experience
