**Job Description**:
Our Catch22 College is the collective name for 10+ sites we have across the country delivering academic and vocational training programmes for young people aged 16+ who, for whatever reason, are not suited to a mainstream college setting. Our College Site, like our all our other College sites, provides students with a highly supportive environment where they have access to opportunities to build up their confidence and self-belief, and to gain new skills and experiences that will help them to achieve their goals in life. We exist to help our students _find their future_.
To provide effective teaching, learning and assessment on a specific site for a College for 14-19 year olds, delivering a safe and secure education provision for students with complex needs and behaviours.
Main duties include:
- To deliver NCFE level 1,2 and 3 Health and Social care and personal development.
- To lead on the production of schemes of work for the service delivery
- To prepare and develop innovative lesson plans, design and deliver group activities
- Deliver training to individual young people and groups following the programme curriculum, setting objectives and targets for achievement
- To provide one to one support to learners where necessary
- To hold a manageable caseload of young people
- To diagnose learners literacy, numeracy and ICT needs and requirements by using various teaching aids
- To liaise with relevant team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress into appropriate outcome.
- To provide appropriate encouragement, guidance and support to learners to help them progress
- To appropriately manage any behaviour issues that arise
- To prepare and submit, when required, up to date assessments of learners, across all relevant activities
- To monitor and maintain appropriate paperwork and records of progress and to report all cases of learner sickness and absence
- To complete review paperwork and record learners’ progress as directed
- To establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with other external organisations involved with the service and learners
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and self assessments and the implementation of subsequent action plans
- Provide learners with all relevant policies and regulations to clarify what is expected of them and to ensure their safety
- Meet agreed contract targets to ensure that revenue is secured
- Complete all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales to ensure that contract requirements are met and funding is maximised
- To be the driver in behaviour management and student support for complex and vulnerable students.
- To drive performance and outcomes in engagement, curriculum, quality of teaching, safety, achievement and progression.
- To work with the Lead teacher to ensure that the College’s overall effectiveness is judged by OFSTED as consistently good or outstanding.

**Qualifications**:
Professional qualification relevant to area of instruction
A relevant teaching qualification equivalent to Degree or PGCE
Experience of working with young people, their families and communities, including those who are from a variety of ethnic groups and cultures or who may be vulnerable or disadvantaged in some way.
Experience of working with support staff within a learning environment
Experience of screening and identification of young peoples needs
Experience of a range of approaches to working with hard to reach and difficult to engage young people
Working to budgets & targets
Experience in leading in the delivery of accredited training programmes
Experience of Teaching and Planning
Experience of working with a cohort of young people including those with complex, high behaviour and additional learning needs.
Extensive behaviour management experience with students who have complex needs and extreme behaviour.
Relevant classroom teaching experience.
Experience with safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of learners.
Additional Information
**Contract**: Permanent
**Hours**:Term time only (41 weeks per year) Full time (37 hours per week)
**Salary**:£26,190.00 FTE per annum
