Accounts Payable Controller

Accounts Payable Controller required on a permanent basis.
**Client Details**
My client is a leading global business located in the outskirts of Birmingham City Centre.
**Description**
The Accounts Payable Controller will work in a hands on capacity whilst also implementing change. The role would suit an AP Manager, AP Supervisor or Senior AP Clerk with some experience of change and improving process.
- Oversee all activities within the Accounts Payable function.
- Take a hands on approach processing all expenses, supplier invoices, payments and deal with any supplier queries.
- Assist in the implementation of a supplier approval process and policy and set up newly approved suppliers.
- Ensure supplier contracts are approved.
- Monitor daily cash position of bank accounts and advise on currency requirements.
- Review processes within AP and highlight areas for improvements.
- Implement changes and build purchase order process that is fit for purpose and drive efficiencies.
- Collaborate with technical colleagues on the automation of AP processes.
- To be successful in this role the AP Specialist will have the following experience:
**Profile**
- Proven track record in a similar role with at least 5 years' experience in Accounts Payable.
- Ability to work in a hands on capacity and operate at a more strategic level implementing change and more efficient processes.
- Strong systems capabilities and ability to understand system functionality quickly and change process accordingly.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Excellent communication skills and proven experience in a client facing role.
