Highways Civils Operative/7.5t Driver

**Job description**
We are looking for an experienced civils operative/groundworker to join our team a must be able/capable of driving a 7.5t vehicle with additional towing capability.
Works include travelling to Essex, Suffolk, London and Cambridge.
Currently works include nightworks in London running out of Chelmsford depot.
The applicant could be capable as any of the following:
- 7.5t Driver
- Excavator Driver
- Dumper Driver
- Labourer
- Kerb Layer
- Drainage Operative
The Civils Operative/ Groundworks key responsibilities will consist of:
- To ensure that the safety of colleagues and the public at all times
- Site Set-up including signage, guarding and barrier
- Excavations and installing supports
- General groundworks and reinstatements
- Asphalt Laying
- Drainage repairs and installs.
- Kerb and edging installation
- Slab Laying
- Trenching and laying ducts/building chambers.
- A Commitment to health and safety, including compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as the applicable regulations
- Communicating back to the site supervisor/contracts manager and able to understand instructions and deliver works accordingly.
Essential required skills and knowledge:
- Full Clean UK driver's license and CSCS card with 7.5t vehicle capability
- Appropriate NPORS or CPCS qualification suited to trade.
- Previous experience working on a Civils team or in Groundworks, with familiarity with all Tools and equipment to undertake such works.
Desirable skills and knowledge:
- NRSWA Streetworks
- Good communication skills and able to complete daily site paperwork / risk assessments.

Works may include combination of site work and highway works. Most sites located within 1hr radius drive from Chelmsford, Essex and may cover Essex, Cambridge, Suffolk and London.
