Overview of the role:
Your Responsibilities as a Polymers Engineer:

- Select manufacturing processes and liaise with suppliers to ensure parts are within specification and tooling is appropriately maintained.
- Ensure manufacturing techniques are commercially viable based off annual expected volumes.
- Maintain internal polymeric standards to ensure polymeric compliance.
- Technical sign-off of all polymeric components.
- Advise upon potential cost saving, lightweighting and environmental improvements using polymers and composites.
- Support the development of JCB’s additive manufacturing business unit.
- Validate polymeric designs through simulation and / or physical testing.

About you:

- Degree educated in manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering or similar.
- Self-motivated and capable of working alone and as a member of a team.
- Has a sound understanding of polymeric material and their failure modes.
- Experienced in validating polymeric components using simulation and physical testing.
- Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD (preferably NX).
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable managing supplier relationships.
- Has experience specifying adhesives and designing for bonded joints.
