This role as Learning and Widening Participation Facilitator is expected to provide and support employability opportunities to attract and retain our current and future workforce. They will be expected to create and implement a range of Widening Participation projects to support strategic workforce planning across the North East and North Cumbria.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision and co-ordination of efficient and effective programmes, activities and projects to support organisations strategy and aspirations and to contribute to the formulation, agreement and delivery of HR and clinical development strategies by providing a high-quality service.

It is essential that the post holder role models compassionate and inclusive leadership by engaging, enabling and empowering others; using coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement; and facilitating team working and collaboration across organisational boundaries.

This post is hosted, and be based with Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, having a reach across the wider geographical boundaries of the North East and North Cumbria.

The main duties of this role is toEngage with schools, FE colleges and HEI’s and learners to promote employment and training opportunities in the NHS and health and social care employer.

To develop and promote opportunities that widen access to careers and employment, including apprenticeships e.g. Work Experience, undergraduate internships, graduate jobs, pre-employment learning programmes and provide information, advice and guidance related relevant qualifications.

To facilitate efficient and effective Widening Participation activities to support aspirations for high employee engagement and promotion of careers and employment opportunities. In doing so, the post holder will role model desirable values and leadership behaviours, whilst supporting and responding to the needs of organisations and the wider community.

By providing a high-quality service to ensure the organisation meets a range of key performance indicators relating to Widening Participation, promotion of careers, apprenticeships, and Corporate Social Responsibility indicators.

To facilitate and implement the organisations plan to deliver meaningful engagement, resources and promotion of the range of careers and routes into employment which benefits our communities, the Trusts and partner organisations.

To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
