**The Opportunity**:
As an assistant arboriculturist with Harmil Environmental Limited, you will be expected to carry out field surveys to assist in data collection for a variety of our projects.

We are looking for assistant arboriculturists across the United Kingdom and will consider applicants from all regions. However, our main location would be:

- Head Office: The New Barn, Gawsworth Business Court, Congleton, Cheshire, CW12 2FQ

The office is located within the tranquil, rural setting of Gawsworth with excellent panoramic views of the countryside.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- BS5837:2012 surveys for large and small-scale infrastructure projects.
- Delivery of technical notes, arboricultural method statements and scoping assessments.
- Health and safety surveys and reports.
- Tree climbing for bats and assisting ecology with various protected species surveys.
- TPO, CA, ASNW and Veteran Tree assessments.
- Site supervision of contractors.
- Design and implementation of bespoke tree protection measures.
- Collaboration with the wider environment team disciplines
- landscape, ecology, environmental management, heritage and more.
- Collaboration with designers, project managers and engineers to deliver infrastructure projects whilst ensuring tree protection and retention is core to the design process.

**Person Specification**:
Desirable:

- Degree qualified in arboriculture or a related environmental discipline (ecology, environmental management or similar), or a at least Level 3 to 4 qualification as described in the Arboricultural Association Qualifications Credit Framework.
- Familiarity with BS5837:2012 and BS3998:2010.
- Capability in tree and fungi identification.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Willingness to develop excellent report writing skills with the support of the wider team.
- Willingness to travel.
- Good work ethic - reliable, punctual, hardworking, and able to work in all types of weather
- Full Clean UK driving licence

Optional:

- Associate membership of the Arboricultural Association or Institute of Chartered Foresters or a willingness and desire to work towards professional membership.
- QTRA certified.
- CS 38 - Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue.
- PA1/PA6 spraying certificates
- NPTC cs units 30, and 31
- An interest in Ecology as well as Arboriculture

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: From £1,693.25 per month

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

- Cheshire, CW12 2FQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Arboriculture: 1 year (preferred)
