We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced **English **to tutor functional skills **English** to GCSE students at Nuneaton Academy.
You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of pre-designed **key stage 3-4 English **material to meet the standards of the national curriculum.
This is a field-based role covering the Nuneaton region, where you will be tasked with the following:
- Delivering up to 5, 1 hour sessions to small groups of 3 students
- Marking work books
- Completing brief progress reports
**Skills & Experience**:
- Previous experience with engaging with young peoples’ activities
- Ability to engage with and inspire young learners by using appropriate training techniques and inter-personal skills
- Create an appropriate learning environment and maintain a disciplinary framework by demonstrating a strong ‘presence’ in the classroom
- Be capable of modifying delivery method dependant on the learners in the group
- Be able to work to deadlines
- Have good ICT skills using Microsoft Office software
- The ability to adapt to different learning styles at pace
In order to deliver/assess this qualification to PET-Xi standards, staff must hold (or be working towards):
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- PGCE
- City & Guilds Certificate in Further Education Teaching (7407)
- City & Guilds Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) (7305)
- City & Guilds Further and Adult Education Teacher’s Certificate (7307)
- City & Guilds Initial Certificate in Teaching Basic Skills (9281).
- An Enhanced current DBS check, preferably on the update service (Essential)
**Personal Skills**:
- Excellent communication skills
- Presentation, written and verbal.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage own diary.
