Head of Energy and Renewables Partner Legal 500 London Top 100 Law firm Job description My client, a Legal 500 firm across the regions and central London is looking for a specialist partner to lead its growing energy practice. This important role has beenestablished to consolidate, lead and ultimately build the exceptional work the firm already undertakes in this important sector. The firm's corporate, commercial, banking, construction and real estate teams are regularly instructed on a broad range of highvalue and complex energy deals, projects and disputes in Wales and the UK. The firm's existing clients in this sector range from operators of wind farms, anaerobic digestion plants, tidal power and solar farms to developers, housing associations, housebuildersand national utility companies. Growing the firm's energy practice has been identified as a strategic priority in the firm's new five-year strategy. The Role This firm is inviting applications from solicitors who have significant experience of working on energymatters, regardless of their personal area of specialism. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will draw upon complementary skill sets and resources from across the firm where required but, over time, build a dedicated and multidisciplinary teamof specialist solicitors to support energy sector clients. The successful candidate will be someone who can demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the energy sector in the UK. They will be able to identify the industry's main challenges and opportunities.With these in mind, they will be able to present an aspirational but realistic business plan which focuses on growing the firm's client base in the sector. We would expect the successful candidate to be able to point to a track record of providing thoughtleadership, commentary and legal updates on key issues facing the sector in previous roles. This firm will provide the head of energy with significant legal and technological/IT resource as well as significant business development and marketing support toenable growth in the sector. They will also ensure partners who work with existing energy sector clients work supportively and collaboratively, as part of the energy team, to help grow the sector for the firm.
