Join us as a Relief Support Worker, we are looking for people for to work at our Learning Centre in Bedford between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm.
**How Relief hours work**
It's a bit like a zero hour contract but without the bad bits.

- Job security and career development
The Relief (Bank) post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave, training and other staff absences. As such, hours are non-specific but your manager will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible.
We normally plan the rotas one month in advance, but additional opportunities also come up due to unexpected staff absences.
This is a varied role in which you will support people to attend both our daytime learning centre and provide one-to-one support out in the community.
No two days are the same You will join in with people's favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them lead active and healthy lives in their local community. You will also support them to learn domestic and life skills such as looking after their homes, caring for their health and being aware of their financial responsibilities.
**The Learning Centre**
The learning centre supports adults with learning disabilities across the week. The centre also provides outreach support to adults with learning disabilities in the community The team of consists of a deputy manager, senior support workers and 24 support workers. They also provide outreach support. to people like David. David
- has a his own job but appreciates the support we provide with some of his domestic arrangements. Once a week we join him for a batch cooking session. Through this activity he learns new skills and doesn't have to worry about what he is going to eat on daily basis. Learning to cook for himself makes his money go further, cutting out expensive takeaways and he is also eating a more healthy diet.

**About you**
Experience isn’t necessary. If you have the right attitude, good customer service skills, share our values and are willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit.

You **must **be a driver with a manual licence and your own transport insured for business use (reasonable mileage is reimbursed.)

**Training and Development**
At Macintyre we fully support your training and development. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job.
