Part remote working/part office based **OVERALL SUMMARY** We are looking for a finance professional with the ability to operate technically, commercially and strategically and assist the Head of Finance with the day to day accounting assistance for the Institute of Hospitality. Prior knowledge of pensions and VAT is an essential part of this role. Key Tasks and Responsibilities The key tasks and responsibilities appropriate to this post are listed below: - Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, credit control and Cash Book management - Bank reconciliations - To liaise with the pension fund scheme administrators - Assistance in the production of annual accounts, budgets and management information - Maintenance of accounting documents and filing systems Specialist Technical - Proficient in Sage Accounting systems - Proficient in use of Excel spreadsheets General - Demonstrate the necessary level of accuracy and correctness in dealing with information and data - Sensitively handle all aspects of data and maintain confidentiality at all times - Undertake relevant training or development as required by the post Collaborative Working - To promote the aims and objectives of the Institute - To work as part of the Institute team as required - To carry out other duties as required by the Institute **PERSON SPECIFICATION**: **ESSENTIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES** - Substantial financial management experience - Knowledge and experience of pension administration - Knowledge and experience of VAT calculations - V & H Look Up experience - "What if" analysis in Excel - Pivot Table experience - Excellent numeric and analytical skills; - Excellent written and oral skills - Excellent IT skills across all platforms - Excellent attention to detail - Proven track record of delivering and meeting tight deadlines - Must be flexible and able to multi-task - An ability to prioritise activities and work to agreed targets and timetables - Ability to work as part of a team and contribute suggestions/ideas to improve its efficiency - Flexible approach to the work involved and able to work well under pressure. **Equal Opportunities Statement
