Are you a problem solver, what we like to call “a fixer”? Are you able to multi-task? Do you enjoy working in a busy environment? We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Operations Support Desk Advisor, based at our Banstead Make Ready Centre.

A part of the Planning and Business Development Directorate, the Operations Support Desk (OSD) Team delivers a 24 hour a day help desk function that supports our Operational Managers, Ambulance Crews, Logistics Teams, Workshop Teams, Communications Technicians, Fleet Drivers and external contractors to sustain and maintain our frontline services.

Advisors must be able to work well within a team or on their own initiative, make independent decisions, manage tasks and facilitate a successful outcome. Advisors will often be required to adapt their plans and must have the ability to react quickly, think laterally and problem solve effectively.

During a shift an OSD Advisor must expect and be prepared to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, working under time pressures in order to maintain maximum fleet provision and emergency crew availability. OSD Advisors are expected to work alone overnight and at weekends without Team Leader support.

Successful applicants will follow a structured on-job training programme building the necessary skills, knowledge and competencies required, followed by a probationary period.
