The Role - Inventory Delivery Lead
The Inventory Management Lead will ensure that the HPC equipment is handled, stored in suitable conditions, managed appropriately in line with manufacturers recommendations and the associated information is tracked adequately. To achieve this objective the post holder will work within the Storage Strategy and detailed planning and analysis documentation to manage effective programme delivery. Working in an Continuous Improvement environment activities, Risks and opportunities will be identified, analysed and managed to assure the integrity of the programme.
This role will require interfaces to be established and maintained with individuals and groups within NNB, the EDF Responsible Designer, the Construction team, Construction Contractors and HPC’s commercial partners.
The post holder will be employed by Wincanton and will be part of an integrated team with EDF.
**Principal accountabilities include;
- Support the contract management of the Storage and Warehouse operations contract.
- A team player in the develop and execute effective strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan
- Provide planning, management and supervision to deliver safe and effective inventory inbound management for HPC assets to support compliance with Configuration Management in line with Industry standards;
- A team player in the develop of Inventory Management governance arrangements, where required, to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, project commitments and company policies;
- Promote the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency throughout the Site Operations team;
- Manage the execution of inbound inventory management activities including the oversight of contractor’s Storage and warehouse team for assurance of the inbound materials and equipment;
- A team player to ensure that the inventory management process meets nuclear, environmental and industrial safety regulatory requirements.
- Areas of responsibility will not be limited to the main HPC construction site - they will include a number of off-site associated developments.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports for each work stream including; safety performance, performance against SLAs, performance against KPIs, financial reporting, project forecasting and forward planning.
- Assist Site Operations EMM Team as and when required, in areas of the scope where there is a need from time to time, these area will not be that of where the Inventory Management Lead does not have the skills nor expertise to carry out such.
**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- BSc Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- Demonstrate significant experience of working within the inventory management field
- Substantial warehousing experience including receipt and despatch of goods.
- Experience of working in a high security environment.
- Long term perspective. Ability to develop a strategy and deliver it.
- Willingness to learn from both successes and failures.
- Proven track record of delivery within a large project environment.
- Excellent communication skills and experience of positive stakeholder engagement [internally and externally].
- Intellectual capacity to deal with complex issues - and work within our local supply chain vision, creating a one team ethos.
- Have experience of complex Industrial Relations within the context of a nuclear construction project
- Understanding of preservation, maintenance and special storage requirements.
- Development of existing technical analysis methods and provision of innovative methods or technical analysis.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Institute of Nuclear Power Organisations (INPO) standards
- Work Management (AP-928)
- Configuration Management (AP-929)
- Recognised and certificated ‘Behavioural Safety Programme’.
- Recent IOSH accreditation [or equivalent].
- Track record of successful major project delivery in a management role.
