We are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of many complex illnesses. UCLH specialises in women’s health and the treatment of cancer, infection, neurological, gastrointestinal and head and neck disease. It has world class support services including critical care, imaging, nuclear medicine and pathology.

Head & Neck Academic Centre
The HNAC is a fledgling department within the division of surgical and interventional sciences of UCL. The HNAC is a multidisciplinary and pan-speciality group, dedicated to excellence in research and education of head and neck disease. We embrace new ways of working across head and neck disciplines, always reviewing current practice to deliver the best outcomes for patients.

Head & Neck Service for North Central and East London
This is one of busiest head and neck departments in the UK with 16 specialist H&N surgical consultants working closely between ENT and OMFS across two main MDT sites of UCLH and the Royal London Hospital. The remit of surgery in the department includes subspecialties of skull base, sarcoma, salivary and thyroid surgery as well the more routine head and neck cases.

The surgical team works closely with an excellent team of clinical nurse specialists, airway anaesthetists, surgical ITU specialists as well as speech and language therapists and dieticians to ensure a seamless journey for our patients through the peri-operative period. We are a leading centre for clinical trials in head and neck oncology, with an on site proton bean radiotherapy suite and a network of experienced head and neck oncology physicians.

We encourage all team members undertake audit and research projects and are proud to regularly have members across the MDT presenting at national and international meetings. We actively and prospectively collect outcome data supported by our head and neck data manager including contributing to the national quality outcomes project.
