Job Summary

The focus of the Ground Handling Supervisor will be to lead and manage the team of Ground Handling Agents at the base, to ensure the safe, compliant, and timely processing of passengers, baggage and freight across the Check In, Security and Ramp functions.
Reporting to the Base Manager, the position is an operational as well as administrative function, and is a key role to ensuring that high service standards are delivered to NHV’s passengers and clients.
- The role will work primarily on a Monday to Friday basis. However, weekend and shift working, will be required on occasion to support the operation
- The nature of the business and role does require the individual to have an element of flexibility and ability to react to short notice changes
- The role will be primarily based at Blackpool, however some travel (and working away at NHV’s other UK bases) may be required from time to time

Respons. & areas

The Ground Handling Supervisor primary accountabilities & responsibilities are as follows:

- Manage the base Ground Handling team, and act as a first point of escalation in the event of any day-to-day queries or issues
- Ensure the Ground Handling Team are trained to the required standards set out in the Ground Operations Manual and relevant legislation. Support the Base Manager (and UK Ground Operations NP) in creation and delivery of training material that is relevant and current to the base
- Undertake handling compliance checks to ensure standards are up held by the team whilst carrying out day to day functions. Conduct investigations and follow up into ground handling incidents as required
- Provide leave cover for the Flight Operations Officer (Operations Control function) role as required
- Ensure equipment and supplies for the handling of passengers and aircraft are maintained and stocked. Support the Base Manager in ensuring the overall presentation of the base and facilities are kept to a high standard
- Liaise with internal departments, Blackpool Airport, clients and other 3rd parties as required
- Deputise for the Base Manager during annual leave, and as operationally required

Experience
- Relevant experience in aviation in Ground Handling role(s)
- Previous management, supervisory, and training delivery experience - desirable
- Knowledge/qualification in Dangerous Goods and Operations Control functions would be advantageous (but not essential as training can be provided)
