Pipefitter Permanent Position Glasgow - In either Scotstoun or Govan £34k We are looking to for a Pipefitter to join the business and fabricate and install pipework systems and utilities, to deliver the best product to our customers. It is an exciting time for you to join us, as our shipbuilding business is growing and you will operate in a new, innovative, and competitive environment. Your main responsibilities would be - Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small-bore pipework using different materials (copper, cuni and carbon steel) Using a range of hand tools & mechanical equipment to cut, bend, braze, solder and weld pipes Installing utilities aboard ship i.e., sinks, showers, and toilets. Essential skills we are looking for - Trade papers, e.g., formal apprenticeship (ability to provide papers) Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture and installation, and use of associated equipment Clear understanding of SHE risks awareness Understanding of manufacturing processes Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and or at height Possessing these would be an advantage - Safety certification i.e., SHE induction, COSHH awareness, working at height etc Background in a major construction / manufacturing environment.
