Deputy Head of Youth Work Are you passionate about improving the life chances of young people? We have an opportunity for a Deputy Head of Youth Work to closely supporting the co-ordination, planning and delivery of an exceptional seven day per week youth offer within a state-of-the-art multi-million-pound centre. The aim of this amazing charity is to help improve the lives of young people in Barnet by giving them somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to? If you have a passion for putting young people first, we want to hear from you Position: Deputy Head of Youth Worker Location: Burnt Oak (London Borough of Barnet) **Salary**: £33,000-£35,000 depending on experience Hours: 40 hours per week (including evenings & weekends) Closing Date: Friday 26th May About the role: Through line management, budget holder responsibilities and by building strong relationships with colleagues, you will play an important part in the day-to-day and strategic leadership of the Delivery Team. Working positively, collaboratively and at pace with an enthusiastic and energetic team, you will also seek to ensure that the offer is contemporary, quality assured and that it reflects the wishes, needs and views of young people. You will also be accountable for ensuring strong evidence of effective performance in line with vision, mission, values, and strategic objectives and that the team are afforded continuing professional development opportunity. You will need to be a big voice within a large team, owning and demonstrating a strong ethos, commitment, and dedication to improving the lives of children and young people and uniting them to fulfil their full potential. You will be confident in your abilities and able to deputise effectively for the Head of Youth Work as and when required. You will also be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer for charity. About you: To be successful in the role of Deputy Head of Youth Work you will be a role model for young people and present a positive "can do" attitude. You will need to have a substantial understanding of youth work as part of a universal provision and its benefits to young people. You will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience: *Substantial experience of leading and managing activities *Experience of managing staff and volunteers *A track record of successful project management *Experience of working with a range of IT systems *Experience of working through a staff team to deliver results *Experience of working within a team and prioritising work *Experience of managing and budgets We very much welcome previous experience working as: Child and Youth Program Manager, Assistant Youth Development Manager, Youth Work Lead, Child and Youth Development, Youth Support Manager, Mental Health Youth Worker, Educational Youth Worker, Youth Work Lead, Behaviour Support Assistant, Residential Youth Worker, Child Care Worker, Youth Worker, Holiday Club Lead, After School Club, Youth Club, etc. PLEASE NOTE: This role is being advertised by NFP People on behalf of the organisation.
