To support the Operational SLA Manager in planning, managing and monitoring of a comprehensive Estates Service to the Trust and which effectively supports the delivery of its clinical services.
To manage the Estates maintenance team to provide a statutory compliant, effective and efficient Estates service to the Trust. Core elements will include Estates Health and Safety, communication at all levels, managing within HR Policies, advising management on statutory compliance, safe and efficient use of resources, etc
Responsible for the day to day management of the maintenance team ensuring satisfactory time keeping and work related performance issues are addressed including disciplinary and grievance matters. Ensure the standards of workmanship of the directly employed labour force and to promote co-operation and versatility within the maintenance department and report any variations from the standard to the Operational SLA Manager.
Liaise with and manage contractors appointed to undertake maintenance activities, monitoring standards and performance levels and feeding back relevant information to the Operational SLA Manager
Manage and monitor specialist and other contractors for the Trust to ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation, procure all relevant Method Statements, Permit to Work documentation, Notification to Work and monitoring quality of work.
Effectively plan and organise the department’s resources in line with the changing workload and customer requirements to ensure that a high performance maintenance service is delivered.
Manage, prioritise, organise planned, reactive and emergency maintenance and new work projects as they arise throughout the Trust’s estate.
