Our PeoplePlus **Careers Service** delivers high quality and impartial in-custody careers information, advice and guidance. Operating within 16 prisons across the North, Midlands and East of England, our teams work with offenders to explore their experience and skills, understand their aspirations and long-term goals, and support them with their education and employment, both in-custody and through the gate.

We are looking to recruit a permanent, full time **Careers Advisor **to join the team in HMP Stocken.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Careers Service Regional Team Leader, our **Careers Advisors **provide a direct Information, Advice and Guidance service to our learners through a mix of 1:1 and group interventions. From supporting a learner’s induction into the prison and sharing information on the education and training available, through to developing Personal Learning Plans and building relationships with local employers and key suppliers - we help our learners to see that their future is full of possibilities.

You will manage a caseload of learners, supporting the achievement of personal and team targets. Furthermore, you will identify skills, learning and work goals to meet their individual needs, building on previous work experience and ensuring career aspirations can be achieved. The role also involves delivery of group Employability sessions such as CV writing, interview skills, assessment centre training and addressing any barriers to employment.

**What are we looking for?**
- Level 4 Careers, Information and Advice qualification or a willingness to achieve the qualification
- Experience of providing quality careers Information, Advice and Guidance to clients
- Experience of developing and delivering careers/employability workshops
- A passion to inspire, motivate and lead by experience to support achievement of qualifications and career aspirations
- Confidence in using a range of presentation & communication skills
- A background in working with disadvantaged people in a secure environment is desirable
