This is a newly created position working alongside the Head of Finance to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation. You will be providing insightful strategic financial analysis to ensure the organisation makes evidence-based decisions, obtainvalue for money and align its resources to deliver its strategic goals and objectives with maximum impact.

**Are you the right person for the job?**
- A recognised accountancy qualification or demonstrably qualified by experience
- Qualified to AAT Level 4 or trainee ACCA/CIMA
- Working experience in creating financial and business modelling, and planning, financial analysis and monitoring performance
- Extensive experience in managing, setting and monitoring budgets, creating reports, scenario planning and analysing financial information
- Good understanding of IT systems and processes, including Sage and Microsoft software
- Advanced excel reporting skills
- Outstanding presentation, reporting, listening and communication skills
- Have a hands-on approach and be a team player
- Flexible approach to duties and working arrangements

**As a Financial Analyst, your responsibilities will include**
- Supporting the Head of Finance in the annual planning, budgeting and rolling 2-3 year forecasting process.
- Ensure that budgets once approved are shared with budget holders
- Generate future-orientated analysis and insight as required to enable the organisation to understand the opportunities and challenges of trends and to enable data-led decisions to be made on a timely basis as options present themselves
- Provide cover for the Head of Finance in times of absence
- Assess whether implementing budgeting/reporting software would benefit the organisation and if so work with the Head of Finance on the project plan and implementation
- With the Head of Finance create a set of financial KPIs that are developed and reported on to agreed deadlines
- Support the Fundraising Data Officer in the production of meaningful fundraising reports and analysis including ROI, Legacy pipeline, Trusts and Grants analysis and Lottery analysis
- Work closely with the Quality & Data Officer in producing therapy costs analysis, scenario planning and activity appraisal
- Supporting Heads in the preparation and review of new projects including capacity planning and ensuring all financial aspects are considered
- Engaging with stakeholders to analyse and review project performance in both financial and non-financial measures
- Undertake the initial review of draft management accounts with the Head of Finance prior to their circulation
- Work closely with the Treasurer Trustee in the production of Board reports and presentations
- Contribute to the year-end process
- Maintain a general situational analysis across all financial aspects of the charity
- Provide regular analysis on restricted and designated income and fund balances with Head of Finance and Trusts and Grants team
- Attend the Income Generation sub group
- Develop a full cost recovery model, to enable the organisation to maximise the benefit of external funding for current and future projects
- Contribute to the development of financial processes and controls, identifying and implementing best practices where appropriate
- Participate in cross-team projects, providing financial support, modelling and analysis as required

**The Interview Process**
