**Fixed-term: 12 months**

We are looking for a Research Assistant to provide experimental, analytical and operational research support to a Leducq Foundation-funded project investigating how stroke affects cognitive function. The post holder will primarily support preclinical studies involving tissue-based laboratory work and image analysis.

**The Opportunity**:
The role will enable the post holder to support the production and analysis of important data contributing to project milestones. The post holder will also be able to develop further skills associated with the project methodology and through interactions with other staff and students internally and externally, including the Leducq Stroke-IMPaCT network.

**Your skills and attributes for success**
- Experience in lab histopathological, in situ hybridisation, and image analysis methods, including quantitative analysis (e.g. using Fiji/ImageJ, Ilastick, QuPath)
- Good knowledge of stroke neuroimmunology including cell phenotyping methods
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Excellent planning and organisational skills including ability to work to and meet firm deadlines
- Ability to work under own initiative and to recognise when to seek guidance from others
