Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Edinburgh to recruit for an Assets Review Technician in the Public Sector on a temporary basis for 12 months with potential extension further.
Hourly rate: £15.88
To provide an effective service as an Assets Review Technician to contribute to the review of property assets and delivery of asset projects. To carry out surveys and prepare detailed drawings and accurately record on spreadsheets/databases data gathered; organiseand supervise asset projects including alterations and adaptation, maximising efficiency of service delivery within specific standards and approved budgets and in accordance with the organisations legal and statutory obligations and its policies and planswith a commitment to achieve best value.
**Main Duties**:
- Contribute to the attainment of high corporate technical design and professional standards.
- In conjunction with the Assets Project Manager and Service and Team Managers, assist in providing advice and technical support to Council departments for a wide range of property issues.
- In conjunction with the Assets Project Manager and Service and Team Managers, identify and prepare essential property information to ensure compliance with all relevant current legislation and standards including safety legislation and obtaining statutoryapprovals as required.
- Manage and programme personal workload over a number and variety of projects.
- Organise or conduct surveys and produce appropriate drawings, reports and schedules.
- Contribute to the monitoring and control of project costs and ensure project delivery within project budgets.
- Maintain and develop skills and capabilities relevant to the post, keeping up?to date with legislation, guidance, codes of practice and all other matters relevant to the post.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by monitoring performance, analysing feedback and identifying proposals for continuous service improvement.
- Maintain awareness of developments in national policy, best practice, and a detailed working knowledge of all relevant legislation in order to ensure that the Council's policies and practices conform to statutory provisions.
- Promote a positive image of Strategic Asset & Capital Plan Management (SACPM) by providing excellent Customer Care, consultation skills, reporting and liaising with senior officers.
- Promote the Council's vision and values and a corporate culture that is positive, customer focussed and supports employee engagement to the highest standards.
- Undertake such other duties and responsibilities that may be reasonably required by the service.
- Undertake such responsibilities to work autonomously where required reporting and liaising with the Assets Project Manager on a weekly basis.
- Undertake such responsibilities to run small minor works and D&B contracts reporting and liaising with the Assets Project Manager on a weekly basis
**Essential Criteria**:
- Educated to HND/SVQ Level 4 in a relevant property or construction discipline and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
