Our Client is an OFSTED rated outstanding school and is a specialist in alternative educational provision for young people with special educational needs. They are in need of an experienced SEN Teacher to join them immediately on a full-time basis. Withthe complex needs of the students, we are looking for individuals who are capable and enthusiastic to work in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.
The school believes in and practices personalised learning to meet the very different needs of all their students.
Although this is a secondary role, the pupils work at a primary school level. An excellent, confident Primary School teacher, with experience teaching Maths and English from Yr4-Yr6 would be very able to teach this level. The English and Maths departmentshave detailed Schemes of Work that the teacher would use as to differentiate to the classes.
The pupils have moderate and/or specific learning difficulties. Classes are on average between 8 and 12 pupils, with TAs who move around with the class.
Expectations for pupils and staff to be respectful and polite towards each other are very high. We need a teacher who can follow the school behaviour expectations and any specific behaviour or therapy plans with fairness and consistency.

To be considered for this Teacher position you will ideally be/have;
- Prior experience working with Special Educational Needs
- Experience supporting or assisting children with SEN/ASC aged 11-17
- The ability to develop good relationships with pupils
- Safeguarding knowledge or training, level 1 or above
- DBS on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
