To plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to achieve effective management of the learning process 5. Plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques to engage and motivate students and encourage independence and student autonomy 6. Establish a purposeful and motivating learning environment where students feel safe, secure, confident and valued 7. Establish and maintain procedures with students which promote and maintain appropriate behaviour, **Generic Duties**: 1. To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College Group ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of College life. 2. To take proactive responsibility for Health & Safety to ensure that a safe working environment and safe working practices are maintained at all times. 3. To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). 4. To support cross college actives as required in particular the key enrolment and invigilation periods. 5. To understand roles and responsibilities around safeguarding all learners. **Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**: Essential: - Educated to Level 6 e.g. Degree or equivalent in related degree - Successful recent previous teaching experience with 16-18 year olds - Excellent computer literacy - ability to use the current IT programs of the College - Proven relevant experience of curriculum planning, development & delivery - Knowledge and understanding gained from previous experience in delivering the BTEC and/or A level specifications (Psychology/Sociology) - Engaged and passionate about Continuing Professional Development. - Minimum of Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy. - High level of communication and interpersonal skills, an effective member of a team - Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues and for themselves - Strong understanding of the importance and impact of feedback on learner performance - Outstanding teacher who is student centred Desirable: - Experience and understanding of ALPS and value added as progress measures - Good understanding of curriculum development to meet the training needs of employers - . Fluent speaking in any of the mentioned languages: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Kurdish Sorani, Tigrinya, Spanish, French or Portuguese **Benefits**: We really care about our people.
