Our global offshore energy projects client is now seeking a Contracts and Commercial Specialist to join its global projects team.

The role

The GPC Contracts & Commercial Specialist is an operational role, embedded in PMT, responsible for delivering Contracts Management and Commercial Performance systems and culture

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Contracts Management
- Qualifying and making recommendations on main contract and purchase agreements
- Draft legal documents: Drafting in a legal / contractual context
- Project-specific partnering: Drafting and evaluation of project specific partnering contracts and applicable legal constraints including competition laws
- Stakeholder agreement: Engaging stakeholders to identify and resolve differences through negotiation to reach a mutually agreed solution
- Bidding, contracting and subcontracting: Uphold bidding and contracting principles, subcontracting principles and associated deviation processes
- Risk identification and management: Identifying and handling risks through insurance or avoidance by indemnity or waiver of liability
- Contractual claims: Managing contractual and insurance claims handling process and associated claims quantification, presentation and settlement
- Contractual qualifications: Formulating and qualifying contractual provisions complying with our insurance covenants
- Dispute resolution: Resolving disputes through open dialogue, mediation or arbitration (appropriate to local procedure)

Your experience profile

Professional qualifications - Degree qualified

Strong analytical skills - including Advanced Excel and Power Bi.

Programming or database skills would be a benefit

Contracts Management experience

Experience producing and presenting reports

Be a proven performer in mid-sized team (up to 12 people);
Have experience of multi-site project delivery execution;
Be ready to use digitalisation initiatives for the purpose of continuous improvement;
Have ability to work with clients, suppliers and Alliance partner to understand client project performance requirements and to co-ordinate internal resources to meet them.

Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in the subsea or offshore environment
