Swansea Bay Operating Theatres are currently recruiting Anaesthetic, scrub and Recovery Practitioners at band 5 AfC.
At Swansea Bay University Health Board we are embracing a once-in a generation development, and taking the first steps towards our vision, of creating centres of excellence for Theatres and improving patient pathways across the three theatre sites. This development will include increasing day surgery capacity in Singleton, an Orthopaedic and Spinal Centre of Excellence for South West Wales in Neath Port Talbot Hospital and establishing the complex multi-speciality emergency and elective needs required in the region based at Morriston.
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, dynamic, committed individuals to join our energetic and vibrant Operating Theatre teams, on this exciting journey.
If you are a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner, with current UK professional registration relevant for the post then we’d love to hear from you. We would welcome applicants with Theatre experience or for those looking for a new challenge. Applicants who do not have previous theatre experience will undergo a full training and support programme to fully equip our staff with the skills they require. Part time and full time positions are available.
We are committed to developing your professional competence, and building your skills through learning and education to maximise your career prospects. We have supported educational programmes with the University of Wales, Swansea to support your continuing professional development.
Theatre documentation is recorded electronically, so IT skills are essential.
This post will involve caring for patients within the theatre department, who will undergo a range of surgical procedures from various specialities, and you will be expected to manage patients care throughout the perioperative stage.
You will be part of a driven team engaged in the challenges of an ever changing environment, and be expected to become an efficient and effective team member.
We believe staff are our best asset and we want you to be happy and confident about starting your career here in Swansea Bay University Health Board.
As one of the biggest healthcare groups in the UK we can offer a wealth of professional training and development opportunities in an innovative, forward-thinking organisation.
You might be a nurse or doctor, maybe you specialise in a health science/therapy or can offer skills in one of our support services - we have a job for you.
There are also apprenticeships, work placements and volunteering roles available.
Our values - Caring For Each Other, Working Together and Always Improving, show that our commitment to equality is at the heart of everything we do.
If you want excellent career and training opportunities while living on the doorstep of some of Europe's most spectacular scenery, with all the benefits of a thriving and cosmopolitan city - look no further.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
