**Transport Planner**

**Grays, Essex**

**£30000 - £35000**

**Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm / 8am - 4pm / 12pm - 8pm (1 in 3 Saturdays paid as overtime)**

My client, a well established and friendly company based in Grays, is looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to join their busy team.
- Booking and tracking transport for internal and sub contracted drivers.
- Ensuring loads and transport are efficiently planned.
- Optimising the use of all customer delivery windows to help increase vehicle utilisation.
- Sourcing transport sub contractors.
- Responding to customer enquiries, providing quotations and keeping them updated as to the progress of deliveries.
- Assisting in the closing out job files by obtaining POD and any other required information, scanning documents onto the system.
- Reviewing routes and suppliers to ensure transport is planned cost effectively and to maximise profitability.
- Producing weekly KPIs as directed by your Line Manager.
- Liaising with all UK warehouse's so they are aware of returns and outgoing loads and can plan manufacturing effectively.
- Creating a delivery plan which is achievable whilst working within all legislation requirements, including WTD, tachos.
- Ensuring planning works in conjunction with maintenance for different vehicle types.
- Ad hoc tasks deemed reasonable by Line Manger.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

- Previous experience in a similar role, planning experience and use of planning systems
- Ideally tanker experience, telematics experience and CPC qualification
