**Location: Edenbridge, Kent**

**£32,000 - £40,000 per annum**

**Office hours: 9-5.30pm Monday - Friday. Hybrid option 1 day following training period.**

**Overview**

To assist with the running of the International and Packaging Purchasing Departments. The successful applicant will work closely with the Purchasing Director to assist customers with the development of new packaging, whilst also dealing with the sourcingand purchasing of a number of key items to ensure the smooth operation.

You will be required to participate in weekly departmental meetings, with updates of all activities from the preceding week and planned focus for the week and month ahead along with presenting relevant reports.

**Key elements of the role**
- Processing enquiries, providing quotations and booking orders that come into the department from the Sales Team, other parts of the group and direct from some customers.
- Managing the day to day activities of the trainee buyer, ensuring they work methodically, and providing guidance as necessary.
- Checking and signing off supplier invoices and passing these to the Finance Department for payment, as well as liaising with the Accounts team regarding any invoicing queries.
- The setting up of new product codes, customers, suppliers and products on the Sage Accounts package.
- Booking new orders onto the company's systems (either directly or via the trainee buyer) and then managing stock, including liaising with internal warehouses and supplier base to ensure deliveries reach us and our customers on time.
- Handling new enquiries on all forms of packaging from the sales team and working with the purchasing team to ensure quotes are provided in a timely fashion.
- Raising purchase orders initially for Director approval
- Negotiating with suppliers to ensure best price, service and quality are achieved
- Sourcing new suppliers globally, benchmarking, auditing and agreeing terms as required.
- Supplier performance management and reporting.
- Willingness to travel (UK, EU and Asia) when/if necessary.

**What skills do you need?**
- You will require a proven purchasing background (packaging and/or FMCG experience preferred) and be looking to take the next step in their career by managing one report under you within the role.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint as a minimum), have a good level of communication both verbally and written, be good numerically and with any Sage knowledge being advantageous.
- Educated to A Level standard or higher. CIPS of any level advantageous but not a necessity

*Salary will be dependant on experience and relevant industry knowledge.
