Staffordshire Police is continually striving to deliver the best possible service for the county’s residents, businesses and visitors. It is a fast-paced organisation, adaptive to modern policing needs and open to continual improvement.
Set out within the force’s Policing Plan, Staffordshire Police has clear direction and ambition through five main priorities; Modern Policing, Early Intervention, Supporting Victims and Witnesses, Managing Offenders and Reoffending and Public Confidence. These priorities support the exciting changes that have already taken place and provide the framework for changes to come.
Everyone who works for the force has an important role to play in shaping the future of Staffordshire Police. The force seeks people who will champion new ways of working, be collaborative and agile and represent in a fair and ethical manner those that Staffordshire Police serves.
**About the Opportunity**
Forensic science is used to support the investigation of crime. It can be used to provide evidence to support or refute an allegation, a version of events and a person’s involvement in an offence. The Digital Forensics Unit (DFU) is committed to providing quality, objective, timely and effective forensic services to inform investigations, in support of our Policing Plan through modern policing, early intervention, supporting victims and witnesses, managing offenders and public confidence. - A genuine passion for technology.

- A need for continuous service improvement.
Desire to help protect the most vulnerable and the wider community, supporting officers, investigations and the Criminal Justice System.
As a Digital Forensic Coordinator you will have responsibility for the direction and service delivery of digital device examination within the DFU. You will be reviewing case submissions to understand investigative requirements, defining approach strategies and tasking your team to ensure reasonable lines of enquiry are explored successfully. Such work will be completed in adherence to ISO17025, the Forensic Science Regulator’s Codes of Practice and Conduct and Force-specific policies and procedures. As a line manager, you will play a key part in supporting your team with daily activities, as well as working with them to ensure continuous personal development, drive innovation and service improvement.
Due to the nature of the role and the casework within the Unit, you will be exposed to indecent images and videos of children, as well as acts of extreme violence. Robust welfare provision is in place to ensure you are supported in the role.

Please note that if successful for this role, the following tests and checks will be conducted:
