Foreman

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic site foreman to join a well-established marquee company with an excellent reputation.

Over the last few years South Downs Marquees has grown considerably under a new events director and continues to grow year on year. Our reputation for working to an exceptionally high standard has earned us many repeat customers and recommendations. We are looking for an individual with the drive to deliver excellent events, build and derig marquees to a high standard, and run a team of up to 15 in the summer. Off season work includes maintenance of marquees and equipment, site visits and preparing quotes and plans.

We are looking for someone with:

- Great communication skills, confident and friendly manner.
- The ability to manage others, so that tasks are carried out efficiently.
- An eye for detail.
- Computer literacy is required, experience with TSS, Visio and Microsoft Office is desirable
- Fluency in English
- This role is physically demanding and involves working outdoors so a good level of fitness will be required.
- Experience with mechanics is a bonus too.

Key tasks include
- Train new team members and carry out site inductions for new members of staff
- Provide ‘hands on’ support on-site
- Mark out the site and supervise the erection and dismantling of structures
- Control of plant and health and safety issues whilst ensuring compliance to the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
- To ensure the product is of the highest quality and meets customer requirements
- Liaising with clients and suppliers from initial contact through to the very end.
- To ensure warehouse is kept in a clean and tidy order with all stocks accounted for
- To ensure all vehicles are maintained
- To ensure all stock is cared for

Standard working hours out of season are Mon-Fri (8.00am - 4.00pm), however through the wedding season we start early and finish times will vary according to workload. Weekend work will occasionally be required.

Pay: £28,500.00-£40,000.00 per year
