To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for an Active Communities Lead to join our team.
As Active Communities Lead you will be responsible for ensuring the leisure contract is proactively leading the way and our activities and initiatives are seen as integral to the healthy lifestyle offering across the city of Oxford.
You will establish thriving relationships with community partners and stakeholders and identify opportunities for growth and development of the Leisure trust activities within key local areas to serve underrepresented groups.
**Your main responsibilities**:
Develop the active communities offer across Oxford, through collaborating with key partners and identify opportunities to increase activity levels across the borough.
Engage with Oxford City Council representatives regarding health and wellbeing and attend local Health and wellbeing partnership meetings.
Understand the demographics and specific needs of the local population and collaborate with partners to develop a programme of activities both within the community and leisure facilities to cater towards these needs.
Regularly gather monitoring data, customer insight, achievements and learnings relating to external funding projects as appropriate.
Produce reports for colleagues, Local Authority and external funders as required.
Enhance the community offering across the leisure facilities utilising available space within centres to provide activities for under-represented groups.
Ensure that community wellbeing activities are effectively promoted and well attended by target populations.
Ensure self-development of competencies, skills and knowledge as required.
**What you’ll need to do the role**: You will have demonstrable experience as an Active Communities Lead, or a similar role related to physical activity/ sport/ health or community development. Proven experience of developing and leading projects including implementation plans & monitoring of outcomes. A strong understanding of the wider determinants of health and the barriers to physical activity. Excellent relationship building skills and experience of multi stakeholder working to successfully deliver joint projects /programmes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to enthuse, persuade, negotiate, and influence a variety of audiences. Ability to develop effective working relationships with people at all levels and across sectors. Experience of writing funding bids is desirable.
