We have an exciting opportunity to join #TeamEMR as a **Train Riding Inspector** **based in Nottingham.

**The Train Riding Inspector is responsible for**:

- Attend call outs to failed trains
- Attend any maintenance depot location at their request to assist with fault finding and recertification as necessary
- Attend outstations to complete repairs or fault finding diagnostics
- Provide a link between train crew and Fleet, to highlight or address issues as they arise
- Attend in service technical incidents, investigate and rectify where possible, write reports and provide feedback to other colleagues and findings to the Duty Maintenance Manager
- Carry out pre and post exam audits as directed, advising the Duty Maintenance Manager of defects for depot rectification
- Carry out all work to agreed standards and that all work undertaken is recorded and “signed off” on the prescribed documentation
- Ensure compliance with all working instructions, standards and rules and regulations
- Assist in the train preparation, service checks and refuelling of our trains in various depots
- Carry out seasonal checks to include winter and summer checks to highlight potential issues before they cause a problem

**Key Skills & Experience**
- A recognised NVQ Level 3 in traction and rolling stock maintenance (or equivalent) is required
- Be flexible, versatile and have ability to successfully complete further competency training as required
- Work as part of a team also and as an individual to achieve workload and show initiative where necessary
- Be aware and hold the ability to work to strict maintenance and operational procedures.
- Have good awareness of how the depots and fleet fits within the EMR operations and the importance of train servicing and delivery
- Essential knowledge of Designated Person and Personal Track Safety for on depot. Ensuring and providing a safe working environment.
- Relevant engineering skills and understanding of electrical and mechanical principles and systems is essential, with the ability to fault find on rail vehicles
