**Job Summary**
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in need, particularly within nursing homes and senior care settings. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for residents by offering support with daily activities, medication administration, and behaviour management. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that each individual's needs are met with dignity and respect.

**Duties**
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support residents with challenging behaviours.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to nursing staff.
- Assist in mobility and transportation needs, including driving residents to appointments when necessary.
- Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in group events.

**Skills**
- Experience in a nursing home or similar environment is highly desirable.
- Proficient in medication administration and understanding of relevant protocols.
- Strong behaviour management skills to effectively support individuals with diverse needs.
- Ability to prepare meals that cater to specific dietary requirements.
- First aid certification is an asset, ensuring readiness for emergencies.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and respect for individuals' dignity.
- A valid driver's licence is preferred for transporting residents as needed.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance, Fixed term contract

Pay: £28,600.00-£29,687.00 per year

Expected hours: 28 - 50 per week
