**Finance Assistant - Join Our Team at Compass Group**

**Location**: Birmingham (minimum 3 days per week in the office)
**Salary**: £27,300 per annum

**Your Role as a Finance Assistant**

As a **Finance Assistant**, you’ll support the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit preparation. You’ll collaborate with a talented team, contributing to financial reporting and ensuring that processes align with internal controls and company policies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Payroll Support**: Prepare and process payroll payovers with accuracy and timeliness.
- ** Month-End Processes**: Prepare and post journals to ensure the timely closure of financial periods.
- ** Reconciliation Excellence**: Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- ** Audit & Reporting**: Support audits and contribute to the preparation of financial statements for UK & Ireland operations.
- ** Team Collaboration**: Take on additional tasks, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.

**What We’re Looking For**Essential Skills**:

- Actively studying for a recognised finance qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA).
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical mindset with excellent numeric skills.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities with attention to detail.

**Desirable Skills**:

- Prior experience in a finance role.
- Hands-on experience with account reconciliations.
- Exposure to audits or financial statement preparation.
