Senior Night Care Assistant

**Overview**
The Senior Care Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to residents within a care home environment. This position involves working closely with individuals who require assistance due to age, illness, or disability, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The Senior Care Assistant will also take on supervisory responsibilities, guiding junior staff and contributing to the development of care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
**Duties**
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring that each resident receives personalised support.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support in their roles.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
- Drive residents to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring safe transportation.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss care strategies and improvements within the care home.
**Skills**
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Experience in senior care or a similar environment is highly desirable.
- Leadership abilities to supervise staff and foster a supportive team atmosphere.
- Proficiency in IT for maintaining records and documentation related to resident care.
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- A compassionate approach towards elderly individuals, demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Capability to drive safely and responsibly when transporting residents.
This role is essential for maintaining the high standards of care that our residents deserve while fostering a positive environment within the care home.
Pay: £13.18 per hour
