**The most important skills required are a good head for data and Excel along with the ability to charm as you'll need to communicate effectively and use your influencing skills to persuade and negotiate.**

We offer a two-year training programme fully supported by our established Project Controls teams to facilitate your professional development into a fully-fledged Cost Engineer.

As an Assistant Cost Engineer in our Finance & Business Management (F&BM) function, you'll assist in delivering the complete Cost Engineering service by moving around the business on a number of 4 to 6 month placements helping to look after some very interestingprojects.

Location - between Reading and Basingstoke with on-site parking or great bus routes between Reading/ Basingstoke/ Newbury.

Starting Salary: £26,500 per annum

As an Assistant Cost Engineer your days will look like this:

- Developing through experience a variety of cost engineering competencies
- Utilising applicable project controls tools and techniques to help underpin the projects' financial performance
- Communicating cost impacts and proposing any corrective actions to applicable stakeholders
- Implementing, maintaining and managing our cost control systems and processes
- Providing project and programme personnel with the support necessary to manage their projects
- Supporting line management with emerging tasks

To be considered for this vacancy you should have:

- A good standard of education (minimum A level standard) or demonstrable, equivalent experience
- Microsoft Office skills including **E xcel**
- **AWE**some communication skills and the ability to engage with and influence stakeholders
- An organised approach

You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role.
