Council Governance Officer based in Barnsley and the rate is £19.85ph PAYE

This is a part time role working on a temporary contract.

Governance Officer to support Councillors and the decision making arrangements. The role involves servicing a number of meetings, which may include Cabinet, Planning Regulatory Board, Area and Licensing Boards, and involves working with officers to ensure effective planning of agendas, correct writing of reports, and recording of decisions made in meetings through production of minutes or notes.

The position involves working with a wide array of officers in different departments, providing support in relation to decision making arrangements. The role involves being able to with staff at all levels, managing a varied workload.

The ability to analyse reports, and debates, in order to provide a summary in the form of minutes or notes is essential, as is the need to be self-motivated, well organised and methodical.
