**The Role**

We are looking for a versatile and highly motivated individual to join our energetic and successful Ecology team as a Principal Ecologist or an Associate. We are looking for someone to support our South team and can be flexible across the South East; however you nearest local office may be our London facility.

As part of the role, you will assist the Unit/Divisional Director in planning and taking action to manage resources consistent with Margin targets as well as project managing a range of project types. Your team and client management, as well as technical experience will actively contribute to the growth of the Division.
- Key Responsibilities_
- Ability to deliver a consistently high standard of all practical, technical and financial aspects of geotechnical projects.
- Provide commercially sound, solutions-based advice.
- Use software and technical guidance documents for the assessment, modelling and interpretation of data to determine the required outcome for the project or assignment.
- Project managing a range of project types, including day to day project management, preparing deliverables (e.g. Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessment, ES Chapters, BNG Assessments and Habitats Regulations Assessments).
- Undertake Quality Assurance of deliverables prepared by the wider team.
- Ability to identify and expand new opportunities and marketing avenues for growth and development.
- Efficient and cohesive decision-making to suit the needs of the project, team and self.
- Line management, coaching and mentoring of staff.
- Adhere to and model high Health and Safety standards, in line with Company procedures.
- Engaging and professional communication with colleagues and all stakeholders.

**More about you**- Species specific survey and mitigation licences and/or a second degree are advantageous.
- Full member of The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) advantageous
- Chartered ecologist (CEcol) or Chartered environmentalist (CEnv) advantageous
- A sound understanding of the legislative and planning policy framework as it relates to ecology and nature conservation.
- Strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively and intuitively either alone or in a small team.
- Sound communication and personal effectiveness skills.
- A developing ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
- A full UK Driving Licence (manual).
