Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time or 30 hours
Southlands Care Home, Driffield have an opportunity for an Deputy Manager / Care Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Home Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the provision of quality care to ensure all residents’ needs are met and theirindividuality and dignity is honoured.
Up to full time, permanent position will primarily be supernumerary and shift pattern (8-4, 9-5 to suit the needs with some weekend cover and occasional late shift)
Duties to include, but not be exclusive to:
Use the homes electronic systems to audit, and support with writing, individualised care plans and risk assessments covering all aspects of resident care.
To support the Home Manager in the training and supervision of your staff team, in order to support and motivate them.
Participate in, and sometimes chair, regular Staff and Resident meetings.
Assist the Home Manager across all areas of the business including, marketing the service, recruiting staff members and complaints handling.
Sharing on-call responsibilities with the on call team.
Taking sole responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, in line with company policy and procedure, in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Required skills:
- Previous experience in a Deputy Manager / Manager / Team Leader or equivalent in care management is required.
- Experience of leading people and managing people is key
Thorough understanding of CQC regulations.
- Experience and understanding of medication management and administration.
- A NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is essential and an NVQ Level 5 is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong IT literacy.
