Position will require independently opening and closing store, managing daily tasks and ensuring store targets are met.

Permanent 20-25hr contract - 5 days a week with more hours available with experience.

Pay is national minimum for sales assistant role.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking sales assistant to work on a part-time or full-time basis at our store.

It takes lots of different people to run a convenience store and this is a job for doers, with plenty of variety. It’s a committed role, full of everyday challenges, but that’s one of the things that makes it so exciting.

You will be responsible for
- Serving customers on our checkouts ensuring they receive an easy, seamless and personalised experience
- Delivering department routines
- Manually condensing stock and handling products with care to maintain product quality
- Championing the reduction of food waste
- Being knowledgeable about the products and services in store and helping customers by giving great service
- Replenishing products within store
- You will be required to accept and book in deliveries
- Maintain and adjust stock files using back office systems (Gap checks, negative checks etc)
- Train on post office with responsibilities in managing both shop tills and post office counter
- Prepare deliveroo, UberEats and Just eat deliveries
- Lottery, PayPoint, British Gas and mobile top-ups
- Open and close store when required

You will need
- A passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile and serving them with pride
- The ability to build rapport with customers, meaning they leave the store having experienced a great shopping trip
- To take the initiative and make decisions that are right for our customers
- Work well within a team and communicate effectively and openly with others
- Build relationships with colleagues to create a team spirit, having fun and celebrating success
- Be at work on time, well presented and ready to be a brand ambassador
- Be available within shop hours (Monday-Saturday 7am-9pm, Sunday 9am-7pm)
- Be capable in using computers, hand held scanners and other technological devises

Please note this position would require flexible availability within shop hours at both opening and closing times (Monday-Saturday 7am-9pm, Sunday 9am-7pm).
