Buyer

Bottom Groundworks & Plant Hire Ltd supplies groundworks and construction services throughout Scotland and as a result of our continued success and growth, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Buyer with coordinator skills to join our company.

**Key role responsibilities**
- Managing the day-to-day project procurement of materials from existing agreements.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with external suppliers.
- Developing and managing negotiations of terms with suppliers.
- Effectively dealing with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials.
- To monitor the performance, quality, prices, and development of all suppliers.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements of materials and services.
- Proactively preparing for quotations and proposals.
- Regularly attend team meetings to ensure the site team has the procurement support required.
- Preparing and maintaining cost reports to maximise efficiency within the company.
- Identifying potential suppliers and new products.
- Liaising regularly with Contracts Managers and Surveyors to ensure all material deliveries are timely and accurate.
- Managing purchase orders and invoice issues.
- Overseeing the support drivers and allocating their material uplifts/deliveries to ensure timely delivery.
- Overseeing the hired plant/tools and updating accordingly.

**What we expect from you**
- Experience of groundworks/utilities in a buyer role.
- Experience in successfully sourcing materials for groundworks/utility driven sites.
- Excellent knowledge of aggregates, asphalt, concrete and drainage purchasing.
- Accurate, organised, and passionate with high attention to detail and pride in their work.
- Diligent with the ability to prioritise and display proactiveness in looking for alternative, more efficient solutions.

**Salary**: From £25,000.00 per year
