A fast-moving sustainable food technology company are looking for a Bioreactor Technician to join their Operations team. You will be working with Research & Development teams as well as working with Bioreactor systems to support development projects. Youwill require a scientific based degree and/or previous experience working with Bioreactors or Fermentation.

**Responsibilities**
- Setup of new bioreactor systems for the growth of mammalian cell cultures
- Optimisation of existing bioreactor mechanical and control systems to get the very best product quality & throughput
- Comfortable in working with both single-use and CIP/SIP-able systems
- GAP analysis of current laboratory and production bioreactor systems
- Assist the R&D and Operations teams with specification and procurement of additional equipment where appropriate
- Assist with the deployment of numerous DoE studies
- Work with other teams to define SOPs for laboratory and pilot plant
- Support the preparation of laboratory & production risk assessments and maintenance of health and safety protocols.

**Experience Required**

Essential Experience:

- A professional history of working with bioreactors and/or fermenters
- Experience of setting-up bioreactor systems in an industrial setting
- Optimisation of existing production systems to achieve commercial targets
- Ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team to delivery project goals

Desirable experience:

- Experience of a commercial production environment
- Previous history of working with mammalian cells in bioreactor environment
- Working with R&D teams to deliver processes based on DoE methodologies
- Experience of process mapping and bottle-neck identification
- Ability to solve problems as they occur and carry-out routine maintenance tasks on bioreactor systems
- Comfortable with operational troubleshooting - wiring checks, I/O checks, pipe disassembly and re-fitting etc.
