**Job summary**:
Under the Army Information Directorate, the Cyber and Security pillar, headed up by Senior Civil Servant, has a diverse, military and civilian, and highly capable workforce. Corporate STRAP Security Officer's (SO's) across Defence play a vital role in the safeguarding and protection of STRAP material, through the oversight, management and assurance of all STRAP related activity and accreditation in the business area. They also act as the principal intermediary between local security professionals such as unit and establishment STRAPSO's and Principal Security Adviser (PSyA) and the STRAP Administration Authorities.

The role exists in the PSyA Team** **supports the PSyA and Army Senior Security Risk Co-ordinator (SSRC) in maintaining and assuring the integrity of STRAP material and facilities across the Army, circa 40 locations, both in permanent locations and on exercise to provide assurance to that robust security measures are effective at protecting such material. They will also be responsible for investigating any reported security breaches and incidents concerning STRAP material and take all such counter measures to mitigate any impact. An HEO Deputy Corporate STRAPSO will report to you.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:

- Act as the Army lead on all STRAP security related issues including briefing new personnel and providing security advice on all existing and new STRAP projects.
- Assist in the identification, articulation and resolution of STRAP related issues and risk with sites professing STRAP material across Army.
- Support Army Projects and Programs, conducting site visits on a regular basis, with requirements to hold and process STRAP material. This can be both fixed and potentially mobile solutions. This will include potential ways of working, physical, personal and Information System security.
- Advise the Army Warning Advice and Reporting Point (WARP), PSyA and as needed Partners Across Government (PAG), on any breaches in Army involving STRAP material, including loss, unauthorised access, failure to adhere to rules.
- Maintain a record of all individuals in Army TLB who are STRAP inducted and limit access to STRAP material to those individuals.
- Agreeing the Army contribution to the Annual Assurance of STRAP facilities; prioritising and tasking Specialist Staff to undertake a physical security assurance review of STRAP areas in Army.

The role of SEO Army Corporate STRAPSO offers specialist advice and support to Army personnel, formations, units, locations and projects to support and enable access to STRAP material by units and personnel across the Army.

We are looking for an experienced, talented and motivated individual who is a team player, but is equally comfortable working on their own, to assure the integrity of STRAP material and facilities across the Army, circa 40 locations, both in permanent locations and on exercise to provide assurance to that robust security measures are effective at protecting such material. Daily tasks require the management of competing work streams of varying priorities and delivering advice to a wide rank range of staff (from Junior NCO to Senior Officer) whilst under time pressure.
