You will be part of a growing UK-wide Sustainability Team who are looking to make a positive impact on the environment through our work. While the role will involve nationwide projects, we work very closely together and have a very supportive and fun atmosphere within the team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong track record of delivering Sustainability Performance, LCA, Circular Economy. This role is about challenging the status quo and guiding the way towards the UK’s net zero goals and leading project delivery taking a senior technical role in the team. We are looking for a motivated consultant to join us with immediate effect.

You will join a team that drives sustainability best practice across our project portfolio, and includes delivering innovative sustainability strategies for projects against Net Zero Carbon, Circular Economy and broader sustainability drivers.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

- Development of bespoke sustainability frameworks and delivery plans for clients
- Perform analysis of detailed building performance
- Deliver embodied carbon calculations, BREEAM and GLA compliant Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) at different stages of project design and construction
- Develop Circular Economy (CE) strategies and exploring ways of achieving CE through design, construction and operation
- Communicate sustainability performance findings to Clients in a dashboard / graphical reporting style
- Host workshops and presentations with clients, design teams, planners and developers
- Influence design teams by providing appropriate sustainable material and procurement solutions to lower the impact of projects
- Contribute to internal tool development and research
- Prepare technical summary reports
- Support the training, development and growth of junior team members
- Manage project budgets, timeframes and deliverables to ensure high quality and profitable work

Your key deliverables over the first 12 months will be
- Provide sustainable design and environmental consultancy expertise for their local office and in other UK and international offices
- Integrate sustainability performance consultancy services across our Sustainable Solutions workflow
- Help to promote Ramboll’s multi-discipline capability in the local market

- A relevant degree and/or experience within the Sustainable Building sector
- Application of systems thinking to projects and sustainability performance and environmental assessment
- Comfortable in developing bespoke sustainability strategy and oversight for a range of clients / projects
- Experience in carrying out Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) using accredited databases and tools for buildings and infrastructure projects to BREEAM and GLA standards
- Proven data analysis skills e.g. spreadsheet modelling performance system data
- Proven graphics and presentation skills
- In depth knowledge of sustainability legislation and emerging policy landscape
- Competent at presenting to external Clients
- Excellent communications skills across technical disciplines and wider public and community development area.
- Enjoying taking a creative approach to the delivery of projects, the development and management of knowledge
- Interest to engage in extra curriculum activities such as workshops and webinars to support continuous development for the role that is relatively new to the industry
- A keen interest in sharing your knowledge throughout the wider business to support Ramboll’s new 4-year strategy ‘The partner for sustainable change’
