Deputy Nursery Manager

**Deputy Nursery Manager | Bradford | Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 18.00pm (early/late shifts) **|**40 hours | £11 - £11.50 per hour** Our client provides a safe, loving and stimulating environment where children can make lots of little friends and the team promotes the learning and development of babies and children through lots of fun activities. You will work in the play rooms and must hold a Level 3 Qualification in child care. You will have a passion to inspire children and lead a team of staff to provide exciting, stimulating and enriching activities where children learn and develop through play. As a business the nursery is based in Bradford City Centre; a walking distance from Bradford University. **Are you the right person for the job?** - At least 2 years in management is preferred - Have sound literacy and numeracy skills - Have good organisational skills - Have a creative approach to play and learning - Ability to communicate well and work in partnership with children, parents, staff members and outside agencies - Understanding of health and safety regulations - Awareness of safeguarding requirements - Understanding of equal opportunities - Experience in SENCO is an advantage **What will your role as a Deputy Manager look like?** - To promote the aims and objectives of the nursery - To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff and visitors - To assist the Manager in showing parents around the nursery facilities and sending out information - To ensure the provision of high standards of physical, personal, social and emotional care - To lead a team of professional workers and ensure good practice at all times - To assist the Manager in setting and implementing objectives and policies for the nursery - To assist with the planning and organisation of staffing schedules and holiday rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained - To assist with the implementation of administrative procedures involved with registration, place allocation, and other related matters - To assist with the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record child development - To be responsible for the health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children and ensure staff compliance and awareness - To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times - To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history - Support all team members with the early identification and intervention of children with possible special needs and give physical, emotional, and intellectual guidance as appropriate - To ensure confidentiality of all information received and shared - To assist with staff development and training - To fully support the induction of new team members - Attend nursery management meetings and feed appropriate information back to the wider team - To assist the Manager in the supervision of the training of students in placement within the nursery - Liaise with parents, other family members and staff to help ensure that the particular needs of children are met and that parental choice is considered in terms of care given - To liaise with outside agencies as required - To be involved in out-of-working-hours activities, e.g. training, planning meetings, monthly staff meetings, parents’ evening, fundraising events etc. - To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Manager **What can you expect in return?** - Opportunity to train up to Level 5 - Free parking - On-site parking - Company Events - Employee discount - 28 days holiday including bank holidays **What’s next?
