Unipart Logistics are looking for General Managers to join us in delivering world-class standards in cost, quality, and delivery and you will focus on activity in support of our strategic “Go Digital, Go Green, Go Faster” growth and development. You willbe fully accountable for the performance and management of warehouse logistics operations in one of our sectors and will have the opportunity to define, plan, manage, and sustain organisation and operational change and transformation projects that will trulymake a difference.
A full ‘360’ role, you will manage all aspects of the logistics operation covering inbound and outbound processing, warehouse management, distribution management, internal quality control, returns processing and stock integrity, safety, budgets, Unipart Way,and compliance.
**As part of your key responsibilities, you will**:
- Be responsible for compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards
- Take the lead driving and embedding sustainability actions on your site(s) in support of our commitment to become carbon neutral by 2030, and our pledge to reach 'carbon net zero' by 2050 or sooner
- Ensure ‘The Unipart Way’ is implemented and embedded across the site and use the principles to ensure operational excellence
- Embed a culture of employee engagement across the site where the site is exemplary
- Effectively manage Customer relationships
- Manage Operational Management team - and their direct reports
- Ensure that resource skills and levels are consistent with medium
- and long-term business plans
- Take overall accountability for operational performance to Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
- Ensure that the operating budget is set and managed within targets
- Be accountable for compliance with legal and ethical people management practice
- Be responsible for effective two-way communication processes with team, customer, and suppliers
**About You**
- Experience at operating at a senior level in a 3PL environment
- Manufacturing / Production logistics experience
- Solid experience in defining, planning, managing, and sustaining both organisation and operational change and transformation projects at a large scale
- TUPE experience / exposure
- Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the required standards and performance
- Resilience in ability to work under pressure in a challenging and constantly changing environment, evidenced by previous experience in a fast changing, volume driven working and customer environment
- Commercial acumen to understand, challenge, and manage financial decision making
- Clear leadership skills, to inspire with energy and passion within and across Senior Leaders and their teams
- Proven effective relationships with client / customer
**Location**: Swadlincote / Burton on Trent / Staffordshire
**Contract** type: Full time, permanent
**Salary**: to £80,000 dependent upon experience
