**DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW**
This role sits in within the Commercial Domain in the Performance & Strategy Division. The Commercial Domain is a core competency of Technology and is critical to the success of the organisation by:
- Bringing commercial consciousness earlier into the delivery lifecycleSuccessful pre-procurement activity of major and/or complex commercial activity for projects/programmes that are agreed through the Investment Board (IB).
- Creation and Management of the Technology’s wider budget of c£100m; Managing risks and opportunities to the annual budget
- Creation of detailed management accounts to help budget managers manage their cost base
- Tracking Project impact against the operational costs of the Division
- Liaison with Central Finance
- Creation and evolution of Vendor Management approaches and practices.
- Reviewing and approving the aspects of Investment business cases that have a Technology focus.
- Act on behalf of CIO and TLT regarding commercial activity providing oversight via the Commercial Management Board inc complex procurements.
- The successful management and closure of major contract activity which present an opportunity (or risk) to the Bank.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
The Vendor Analyst Role will focus on vendor and contract management of the RT2 Technical Delivery Partner within Technology, acting as a key point of knowledge and support Vendor Manager and the Vendor Lead in delivery of improved capability across Technology.The Technology landscape is the biggest and most complex within the organisation, the role will help establish improved Vendor Management practices including the ability to report against commercial progress across the division.
This role will report into the Payments Vendor Lead.
**ROLE REQUIREMENTS**
**Minimum Criteria**
The primary focus of the role is:
- Ensuring the Vendor Management framework is in place and operational against all strategic and critical vendors - key areas governance, vendor packs and ensuring smooth transition between the plan/buy/manage cycles as appropriate.
- Acting as a source of knowledge as to contractual costs and how these impact the Technology Cost Base.
- Managing Transactional based relationships that are critical to Technology and the wider Bank including work orders and at time new awards.
- Creation of valuable and timely Management Information as required, and sharing of these with team members and stakeholders as required.
**Essential Criteria**
- A success for the role is the ability to work with senior management including Technology Leadership.
- Understanding of the principles of Software licensing, hardware and service contracts.
- Understanding of contractual procedures from purchasing to contract management and contract closure.
- Experience and understanding of strong governance in a commercial environment.
- Experienced IT professional with an experience and/or understanding in dealing with vendors, within a multisource environment.
- Good planning, organising and communications skills. Pays attention to detail and has strong interpersonal skills.
- Numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to manage different stakeholders and their requirements and prioritise accordingly
**Desirable Criteria**
- Ability to convey complex or technical information at the right level so that it is understood.
- Knowledge and understanding of Public Procurement Processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of Transactional Processes within a Financial Institution.
- Ability to understand business case creation, management and delivery.
