**Salary**: £21,432-£25,353 (Pay Scale 3-4)
Location: Tadcaster - Police Station
Hours: 27 hours per week - (Flexibility but need to work until 5pm and Fridays)

North Yorkshire Police are excited to announce that we are recruiting for a Weapons Maintainer to join Proactive Policing in the Firearms Training and Development Unit.
As a Weapons Maintainer, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of all NYP issued Firearms and Conducted Energy Devices (Taser). The successful applicant for this role will have sound knowledge of police issued weapons and understand the importance of safety and risk assessment procedures. You will have proven ability to manage your own workload without close supervision whilst remaining methodical and accurate at all times. Experience of problem solving, early intervention and fault finding is key to this role.
As Weapons Maintainer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Identify and undertake test fire of all NYP issued Firearms when required
- Undertake the fitting and storage of all NYP Firearms ancillary and specialist equipment
- Support the Force Armourer to ensure that the NYP armoury, training area and ammunition store are maintained in accordance with Health and Safety and Home Office Regulation
- Maintain an awareness of current firearms legislation and of variations in ammunition types for training and operational use
Training Courses Required/Offered:
- Taser Weapons maintainer
- Armourers course - Operational weapons
N.B: - Some Overnight stays is required when attending these courses.
