Gloucester, United Kingdom Western Power Distribution Full time

Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for three Craft Attendants based at our Gloucester depot. Working across the network wherever needed.

The work involves being away from the depot, working in and around the Gloucestershire** **area, often in a team of two people. The environment requires you to be able to react quickly, decisively and responsibly. You will also need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting its objectives. It’s physical work and you'll be out in all weathers, sometimes dealing with customers and always assisting a Craftsperson.

You might be maintaining tools, equipment, materials, making sure the van is stocked up with tools and equipment and is in a safe condition, putting up signs, preparing the site and assessing risks but always working safely. While you’ll usually be part of a team of two, you will also work with a wide variety of professionals, including managers, planners, technicians and contractors.

Progression opportunities **may** be available for someone who demonstrates a desire to learn and undertake new tasks. This will be dependent on business need.

**Evidence of your qualification will be required prior to appointment.**

If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

As an equal opportunities employer who is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, we celebrate individual difference and are actively bringing in more employees from diverse backgrounds to build on our inclusive culture. We anonymise all jobs in our recruitment system, so we can eliminate unconscious bias and be a workplace that reflects the community we serve. Hiring managers only have access to necessary information after shortlisting has taken place and before interview so they can prepare.

Main Responsibilities
- Ensure before commencing work you understand the task/s that you have been instructed to undertake;
- Promote and demonstrate a culture of Health Safety & Quality at all times;
- Ensure the appropriate use of Tools, Equipment & Plant;
- Report all accidents and incidents

You'll need a willingness to work outside as this role is suitable for someone who enjoys the demands of a physical outdoor environment. You will need good basic technology skills and to be able to communicate confidently with colleagues and customers.

You will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake out of hours standby duties, therefore a full driving licence is desirable.

Some electrical experience or an electrical qualification would be an advantage.

About The Company
If this is your opportunity to join us, you’ll find we offer a supportive, rewarding and friendly working environment where you’ll be empowered to build a career. Along the way, you’ll be invested in, be enabled by the latest technology and find that we’re always interested in evolving our systems and processes so that we get even better, every day.

You will receive a generous annual leave entitlement on joining, starting at 26 days rising to 28 days following 10 years’ service, plus 8 bank holidays. Protective clothing and Safety Equipment will be provided where required and we offer free parking at all main sites. In addition, you will be able to access support via our Employee Assistance Programme, including musculoskeletal and physiotherapy services.
