A 5 million turnover SME based in Milton just south of Abingdon is looking for a Management Accountant to report directly to the CEO and manage a finance team of 2 people. This role would suit somebody from an SME environment who is looking to manage thefinances of a business. You will help drive commercial strategy with the CEO.
Responsibilities include:
- Financial operations including book-keeping and management accounts, invoicing, bank reconciliation and cashflow
- Presentation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, including analysis of the Profit and Loss, Sales Margins and Balance Sheet
- Managing financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
- Identification and implementation of mechanisms to minimise financial risk
- Debtor / creditor management
- Month end accruals / prepayments
- Fixed asset register and depreciation calculations
- Responsibility for the budgeting and forecast process, including variance analysis and monitoring cashflow to predict future trends
- Overseeing bank accounts and processing payments as directed
- Working with auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as HMRC
- Keep up to date with current financial regulations and legislation, advising Management when necessary
- Interaction with external organisations and procurement frameworks to ensure efficient and accurate systems are maintained.
- Documentation of financial systems and procedures for Quality Management System
You will have
- CIMA or ACCA qualified
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position
- Strong systems knowledge, especially SAGE
- Management and statutory accounting experience
- Budget and forecasting experience, including variance analysis
- Ability to work within deadlines
